Arqopart Group (Pty) Limited (Arqopart) is a 100% black owned Junior Mining Company with the chief purpose to cost-effectively progress and mine the organisation’s in-house thermal coal reserves that it has developed through its subsidiary companies.
Arqopart was founded by Nicholus Maloba (Chief Executive) and Morgan Mahlaela (Executive Director). The company has complete control of ownership, mining and marketing rights of its subsidiary companies’ coal reserves herein known as Mafatiki Amalgamated Commodities (Pty) Limited, Yoctolux Collieries (Pty) Limited and Diepsoils Investments (Pty) Limited.
Arqopart has in the year 2022 commissioned a small-scale coal mining permit known as the Arqopart Colliery located within the magisterial district of Middelburg.

Nicholus Maloba is the co-founder and Chief Executive of Arqopart Group through his broad knowledge of the South African mineral class distribution, including his surveying, and Geographic Information Systems background, Nicholus was key in the acquisition of the Arqopart extensive coal mineral portfolio comprising an asset base of Mining Rights, Prospecting Rights and Mining Permits.
As a qualified Agriculturist and seasoned entrepreneur, Nicholus also founded and operates a multifaceted farming business. in 2009, Nicholus co-founded Tala Resource Development together with the allied Tala Group of Companies. He served as an Executive Director and Board Member of all the operating companies within the Tala Group of Companies as the Head of the Business Development portfolio.

Morgan Mahlaela is the co-founder and Executive Director of Arqopart Group. He has from 2012 until 2020 served as an Executive Director and Board Member of various operating companies of the Tala Group of Companies as the Head of the Corporate Affairs portfolio.
Morgan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice from Henley Business School; a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Pretoria; and he further completed the Senior Executive Development Programme and the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School. He is also at the conclusion of Master of Business Administration Degree with Henley Business School. He is an entrepreneur with adequate expertise in strategic business and project management including social entrepreneurship.

Ishmael Mokhoka is a Non-Executive Director of the Group who is a seasoned and practising Mine Surveyor by profession. He holds a National Diploma in Mine Survey, National Higher Diploma and Bachelor of Technology in Mineral Resource Management from the University of Johannesburg and further holds a Government Certificate of Competency (SA).
In his career, Ishmael has held professional surveying appointments at various major companies like Anglo Gold, Anglo Coal, Afrisam, and continues to provide his independent professional services to alike companies. Ishmael also served a 3-year term at the Department of Minerals & Energy as a Member of Commission of Examiners in Mining Economics, Structural Geology, Mine Survey, Mathematics and Geostatistics.
Our Vision
Our vision is to develop and commercialise our medium to long term Thermal Coal and Alternative Energy Projects located in Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces in the Republic of South Africa which some are already advanced and in operational phases.
